because we put lots of them in everything:
- Garlic (buy pre-peeled and freeze what you can't use in a month)
- Onions
- Rice
- Pasta
- Salt
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Cooking oil
Spices
You'll want the following as staple spices:
- Pepper
- Balsamic vinegar
- Cumin
- Coriander
- Tumeric
Herbs
If you can grow these yourself (or scrounge some off of a neighbor's bush) you're set:
- Basil
- Cilantro
- Parsley
- Thyme
- Rosemary
Equipment no kitchen should be without
It's worth it, trust us
- Cutting boards
- Sharp knives
- Large pot (we're cooking a lot and saving for leftovers)
- Large pan
- Baking sheet
- Plastic containers for saving food and taking it to work (cheaper than eating out!)
